The past 24 hours have been, for me, a rejoicing in the victory of God.
Due to the sensitive nature of that which I speak, I dare not go into great detail, but to those who prayed for me last night (Corey, Jeremy, Tim, and Paul) I can say: thank you, God has worked everything out in ways only possible through Him. Glory to God in the highest!
Oh LORD, my Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8)
Lexie and I have had a wonderful week, thus far. By no means a happy, peaceful, tearless, and perfect week, but by all means a wonderful week indeed.
I did something awful on Monday, before my interview at Chick-Fill-A. The specifics of my actions are not required since all sin is equal in God’s eyes. Let it be known that I sinned and let that suffice for me to continue.
I kept my deed a secret from everyone and did not confess it despite the remorse, sorrow and guilt I felt. Tuesday passed and I continued to allow the shame to eat me alive. By Wednesday I could fight the Holy Spirit within me no longer.
I praise God for the atmosphere cultivated at the Treasuring Christ Church small group that I go to, which freed me to confess this burden of sin that plagued me. I praise God for the men who have prayed for me and encouraged me to seek God, to dwell on God’s Word and to pray.
To God be the glory! He has worked everything out! I am a testimony to God’s power in working out the impossible. He is a comforter to those in despair. He is a helper to those in need. Please, my brothers and sisters in Christ, rejoice with me in His healing mercy and grace!
In addition to this, Chick-Fill-A called me back and told me that I have a second interview on Monday at 9:00am! This makes us (me and Lexie) very excited, but our hope is in Christ.
What I mean by that is this: our hope to eat is in Christ. Our hope to live is in Christ. Our hope to pay rent is in Christ; not in working a job. God has been providing for us faithfully. He has shown me that He is and will always be the provider for this family. He has shown me that whatever work I do, I am to do to His glory, not to my earnings. If working to His glory gets me fired, then I will get fired and trust Him for the next job. I will not hesitate to glorify God as I have hesitated in the past.
If you are a Christian, but you are afraid to share Christ because you will lose your job and, consequentially, be unable to provide for your family, hear this:
That is idolatry.
You are serving the stipulations of your work establishment before God, believing that from the sweat of your brow come your life, breath and food and not out of the grace from God’s hand.
I had to learn this the hard way. When I finally accepted it and resolved to share Christ regardless of the consequences it was too late. I was fired anyway to cut costs during a poor economy. I should’ve shared Christ from the first day.
Dear Christian brother or sister, please see Christ as the all glorious and most worthy King that He is. Put nothing before Him. Nothing is worthy to be before Him. I pray that the truth of Christ’s greatness and ultimate worth would come into your hearts today and you would exist in that truth. There is no other way to live.
Amen brother! We're all nuts. The question we've got to ask it who/what are we nuts about. Your nuts for the risen King. Stay crazy! Stay out of this wretched world!
