Not much has happened with us over the past six days, but…
I have started working at Chick-Fill-A. So far I really enjoy it. I have not been trained on the cash register yet, so I’ve been busy cleaning trays, taking out trash, and mopping floors in addition to asking customers if I may “refresh” their beverage and/or “clear” their table.
This alone has proven to be quite an immense responsibility. I have discovered that Chick-Fill-A customers are mostly teenagers, stay-at-home mom’s with (many) children, and the elderly. Of these three, the first two create quite an impressive mess that the latter quite impressively overlook while I hurriedly try to cease said mess’s existence.
Meeting this challenge seems to be costing me, however. My lower back is now hurting quite badly, but I don’t know what the direct cause of the pain is. This is bad because I might be repeatedly hurting myself unbeknownst. I hope the pain will pass, and if it doesn’t, I look forward to joining the much acclaimed “Pain Club”, that most of humanity seems to already be in. I’ve never liked being “left out” anyway.
School is also in full swing. Lexie and I (but mostly Lexie) gathered all my class schedules together and laid out how much work I’d have to do each day to stay ahead. Furthermore, she most expertly put all this information into a calendar for me. I greatly appreciated it, and still do.
(She amazingly did this and made a pizza from scratch AT THE SAME TIME!!!)
I am in the library right now, using its internet, and Lexie is here too, working. The whole arrangement (of Lexie working on campus) is very nice. We both like it.
