Life update

A quick message before I go home to my lovely wife...

Convoy of Hope came through Raleigh, NC this past Saturday. Lexie and I volunteered for it and were put in the "prayer tent". We prayed with every type of person:

Dads, moms, brothers, sisters, grandparents, etc.

The broken
The handicaped
The upset
The confused

and most of them were

The lost of downtown Raleigh.

My heart was truly broken by the end of the event. I just wanted to cry, to weep, for the deeply etched sense of false security that most of the people we prayed with were grasping onto.

I'm very excited about the follow up our church (Treasuring Christ Church) is going to do. This involves using the information that the people gave us who wanted follow up. They came to us, now we get to go to them. We get to look into their eyes again and say, "Yes! We remember you! You are loved by God! He has sent us to show you the way home."

I'm so excited.

In other news, I've got another job! I'm working as a guitar teacher for TakeLessons.com .
I was officially certified after a meeting we had tonight. I'm very excited. If this job works out the way I hope, Lexie and I will be able to pay off all my debt in half the expected time! Nevertheless, God's will be done. Paying off my debt will be pointless if God doesn't get glorified in it.

So please pray for me! Pray that I will be diligent in all my responsibilities to glorify God.

Well, sorry there's no pictures. I'll post those later.

  1. I was hoping there would be a new post on here today :-}). (That happy face is papa with his handlebar mustache)....

Anyway, I love you both and I am so thankful to our Father that He has seen fit to place you in a church where the body of Christ "gets it". Continue to serve Him because of your love for Him and He will be glorified! I'm thrilled that you are helping those who are desperate for help. They will know we are Christians by our love....

  2. Awesome ministry man!
That's cool about the second job. That's one thing Rebekah and I had to suffer through while we got out of debt (I worked all I could). I picked the wires back up and we worked at the PHFC and I'd do anything else possible. Debt killing became our ministry.
